Bubble was running low on rum, so I decided to take the tender ashore, hoping to find a bar or store to restock. But when I arrived, everything was closed! Just as I started to wonder how far I’d have to walk—or sail—to find an open store, I had the good fortune of meeting two incredibly kind locals on Great Harbour Cay.
Picture this: I was standing on the beach, contemplating the long trek ahead when Marilyn and Hirna appeared like guardian angels. Without hesitation, they offered to drive me 20 minutes to the nearest open store, just so I could grab some pirate-worthy rum! Their generosity and warmth truly took me by surprise, reminding me how special the people in these islands can be.
What could have been a frustrating outing turned into a heartwarming experience, thanks to these two wonderful women. I’m beyond grateful to Marilyn and Hirna for turning a simple errand into a memory I’ll treasure forever. Cheers to island hospitality!
